9.10.2011 - Gardemeister slippered 7th fastest in IRC Scotland

Flying Finn Toni Gardemeister and his co-driver Tapio Suominen positioned seventh fastest in penultimate round of IRC Series which was driven in Scotland. TGS Worldwide rally team Finns were satisfied for seeing the chequerred flag with their Skoda Fabia S2000. Fastest driver of the event of norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen, who eventually was 3 minutes and 11,5 seconds faster than Gardemeister.

- We had continuous problems with the grip. Our Hankook tyres didn't suit up for Scotish muddy stages. Fortunately we were able to have some old tyres which had even some grip. In future there are lots of things to do with the tyres, told Gardemeister after having finishing the event.

Highly experienced Gardemeister lost sixth position by 1,1 seconds as belgium Thierry Neuville had a superb attack in final day stages.

- In one stage Neuville drove one shikane so that he lost his car front fenders to it. My own Skoda Fabia S2000 car is not also a pretty sight as this rally was very hard for the car, Gardemeister continued.

Even there are still one IRC-round to go, this was the final event for Gardemeister. In eight rounds he collected 44 points and in now in eight position before the final round which is to be driven in Cyprus.

- Our next plan is to bring the car to Finland and make a complite rebuild for it. At the same time we start planning for the season 2012, Gardemeister told.

- This season was very taughtfull for us. Even after a long season I'm very tired for running a private team I'm still very happy for everything, positive Gardemeister continued.
